The Christmas table

In early November, Storfjord dresses for Christmas. Something shifts – the dark season settles over the fjord and forest, and candles appear in the windows, fires are lit early and the outdoor jacuzzis become that much more inviting. This is Norway's dark season: the quiet weeks before Christmas that Norwegians have turned into an art form. It is in this still, half-dark period that the atmosphere here is at its very best.
Gather the people you want around you for a pre-Christmas evening with a fairytale backdrop.

Stay the night
A pause before Christmas
The rooms at Storfjord are made for lingering. Log walls, warm floors, no agenda other than gazing out at snow-dusted trees and a still fjord – or settling in by the fireplace for the night.
At the table
From the Norwegian larder
A Christmas-inspired menu built from what the season has to offer – rich, rounded flavours that sit well in the dark of midwinter. Three or four courses, with the fire going and the fjord beyond the windows. The ingredients come from the region around us, and the kitchen lets them speak for themselves.
